#EstadoDeQuerétaro.- Personnel from the Instituto Queretano de las Mujeres (IQM), in collaboration with the municipalities of Querétaro, Cadereyta de Montes and San Juan del Río, participated in the Municipal Groups for the Prevention of Teenage Pregnancy (GUMPEA), in order to strengthen inter-institutional coordination in prevention and in favor of adolescents in the region.
The general director of IQM, Marisol Kuri Lorenzo, stated that this is a strategy that seeks to contribute to the full and responsible exercise of the sexual and reproductive rights of adolescents in the entity, through prevention and care actions.
“Teenage pregnancy has profound and lasting effects on their lives, manifesting itself in school dropout, emotional problems and economic challenges, in addition to significant risks to their health. For this reason, it is crucial to create effective mechanisms to coordinate, align and articulate policies that support and protect our adolescent girls. Only through a joint and well-coordinated effort can we ensure a healthier and more equitable future for them,” she said.
Kuri Lorenzo informed that, in this exercise, Municipal Groups for the Prevention of Teenage Pregnancy will be installed in Amealco de Bonfil, El Marqués and Colón to join them in the promotion and dissemination of affirmative actions in terms of awareness, since the goal is to have a presence throughout the state.
