Governor Delfina Gómez attends the opening of the first regular session of the LXII Legislature / @Edomex >>>
#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez attended the Solemn Opening Session of the First Ordinary Period of the LXII Legislature, where she called for unity among the legislators and to respond with results to the people of the State of Mexico.
“This administration seeks a relationship of dialogue and collaboration with all parliamentary groups, we are convinced that only by working together and in coordination beyond partisan differences can we meet the expectations of those who elected us. Therefore, I invite all of you to join this vision, to contribute with your ideas and enrich this legislative process, it is time for the people and to respond with actions,” said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
Before the Legislative Plenary, the Governor announced that she will send a package of initiatives that will consolidate the Development Plan for the State of Mexico 2023-2029.
The proposals will promote the four axes of change: Zero corruption and government of the people and for the people; Environmental wellbeing and universal access to water; Decent employment and economic development; Social wellbeing. As well as three Transversal Axes: Gender equality; Peace building and security; Compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Accompanied by Ricardo Sodi Cuellar, Magistrate President of the Superior Court of Justice of the State of Mexico and of the Council of the State Judiciary, the Governor of the State of Mexico pointed out that this day represents a milestone and a new beginning for the participation of women, since the current legislature has a female majority: 38 women and 37 men.
“Today is a historic day for our entity, we celebrate the installation of the LXII Legislature in its First Period of Ordinary Sessions of its first year, which represents the beginning of a new chapter in the political life of the State of Mexico. We have the historic opportunity to have a Congress where the majority of its members are women and I applaud and recognize this,” said Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
