Federal Civil Protection and EdoMéx reports only two waterlogged streets in Chalco / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- As a result of the coordinated effort between the Federal Government and the Government of the State of Mexico, headed by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, only two streets in the Culturas de México neighborhood are currently affected, while the Jacalones neighborhood is now free of water and ready to begin clean-up work.

As a result of these priority attention works, there has been a considerable decrease in water levels, thanks to the strategically located pumping equipment and the deployment of the task force instructed by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, who has permanently supervised the area.

“Thank you very much, Governor Delfina, because we have really seen your empathy, we have seen your work, we have seen that you are attentive and not just anyone does that. Many governors have passed and have not cared for those who need it most, and she has shown her empathy for us,” said Laura Sarmiento, a resident of Chalco.

During this support work, 245 tons of silt have been removed, equivalent to six soccer fields, and 1’800,000 m3 of water have been extracted, an amount similar to filling 720 Olympic-size swimming pools.

After 30 years of lack of infrastructure maintenance, due to the neglect of past administrations, Governor Delfina Gómez instructed to reinforce the support works in the affected area, to strengthen the water drainage in the Culturas de México and Jacalones neighborhoods, in addition to the construction of the Solidarity Collector.

“On Sunday, I went to his poor house and it was flooded and a Vactor helped me to remove most of the water, from the ground and almost all of it was removed. On Monday they were there working, both the Vactor and a soldier, helping me a lot, God be blessed,” said José Gómez Torid, a resident of the municipality of Chalco.
