#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) said that for this four-day long weekend, it is expected that the income from lodging alone will be 2,767 million pesos.

He added that an estimated 1,192,000 tourists are expected to arrive at hotels. Of these, 924 thousand are expected to be domestic tourists, or 77.6%, while 268 thousand will be foreigners, representing 22.4% of the total.

He specified that during this Fiestas Patrias season, an additional 1,421,000 domestic tourists will stay in other forms of lodging, such as in the homes of family and friends, as well as in second homes; therefore, the total number of domestic tourists is estimated to be 2.3 million tourists during this period.

Torruco Marqués indicated that for this long weekend, another 180 thousand tourists, both domestic and foreign, are expected to stay in shared economy accommodations offered on digital platforms.

He informed that the national hotel occupancy rate for this long weekend will be 59.5%. The percentage of occupancy that will be reached in some destinations of the country, during the Fiestas Patrias 2024, will be for Riviera Maya 73.6%; Cancun 71.6%; Los Cabos 70.1%; Mazatlan 69.9%; Mexico City 69.6%; Puerto Vallarta 68.8%; Monterrey 64.2%; Merida 64.3%; Veracruz 60.7%; Bahias de Huatulco 60.2%; and Guadalajara 59.5%.
