Mexican government renders results of reconstruction in Acapulco; Juntos Pintamos Acapulco initiative moves forward / @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Mexican Government allocated a social investment of 35.17 billion pesos to the implementation of the General Reconstruction and Support Plan for the population affected in Acapulco and Coyuca de Benítez by Hurricane Otis, informed the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes.
In a morning press conference with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, she detailed the results of the federal government’s inter-institutional actions carried out since October 25, 2023.

The strategy contemplated the delivery of basic food baskets, food supplies and household goods, as well as cleaning, rehabilitation and improvement of the port’s image.

The Welfare Census reached 301,76 homes and commercial premises in Acapulco and Coyuca de Benítez, thus making it possible to know the reality of each of the affected families. They also attended to 7,000 people engaged in street commerce on the beach.

The Secretariats of National Defense (Sedena), the Navy and the National Guard delivered 1,963,816 food parcels; 2,638,958 basic food baskets, 3,394,405 hot meals, 261,97 kilograms of tortillas, 7,725,568 liters of water generated from 24 water purification plants and 114,830,297 liters of water.

The Sedena distributed 250 thousand packages of household goods, which included a refrigerator, stove, mattress, crockery, fan and blender. The Ministries of Economy and Foreign Affairs participated in this mission in the management and purchase of these goods abroad.

As for public services, 64 drinking water and sanitation actions were carried out with an investment of 776 million pesos. In the restoration of electricity, 3,658 workers from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) collaborated, returning service just one week after the hurricane to the benefit of 331,200 users.
