#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) announced that based on the results of the International Travelers Survey published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), from January to July 2024, 25 million 825 thousand international tourists entered the country, which represents 5.3% more than during the same period in 2023.

He pointed out that foreign exchange income from international tourists in the first seven months of the year was 18 billion 765 million dollars, which represents 6% more compared to the same period of 2023; also surpassing with 34.8% more foreign exchange in the same period of 2019, which was 13 billion 924 million dollars.

Torruco Marqués specified that during the months of January to July 2024, 14 million 376 thousand inbound tourists arrived to Mexico via air, this represents an increase of 3.7% more compared to the same period of 2023, also surpassing with 18.5% more inbound tourists via air captured in the same period of 2019.

He highlighted that foreign exchange income from inbound tourists by air from January to July 2024 had an increase of 5.9% compared to the amount captured in the same period of 2023, by registering 17 billion 35 million dollars, and surpassing with 37.9% more the amount of January-July 2019.

Regarding the average expenditure of inbound tourists by air, the Secretary of Tourism highlighted that, from January to July 2024, it registered one thousand 184.9 dollars; with a growth of 2.1% compared to the same period of 2023, and surpassing with 16.3% the average expenditure of one thousand 18.6 dollars, registered in the first seven months of 2019.

In addition, foreign exchange income from cruise excursionists during the months of January to July of this year, amounted to 498.3 million dollars, which represents an increase of 36.4% more than what was captured in that period of 2019, when 365.2 million dollars were recorded.
