#ISSSTE.- To celebrate half a century of existence, the Regional Hospital (HR) “1° de Octubre” of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) inaugurated a modern hemodynamics room equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which allows diagnoses to be made to treat cardiovascular diseases. In addition, two new elevators were built to improve operations.
The hospital offers 93 specialties and/or services in the medical, paramedical, diagnostic and therapeutic fields, which allows it to provide high-level care for various pathologies. It has a staff of 2,400 professionals to care for more than two million beneficiaries, making it the third largest medical unit of the institute. It covers an extensive region that includes the northern part of Mexico City, the western part of the State of Mexico, as well as the states of Hidalgo, Michoacán, Tlaxcala and Querétaro.
Five decades after its creation, and with the objective of offering quality services, this hospital is the only one in the Issste national system that has an Obesity Clinic specialized in bariatric surgery. It also houses the Spine Clinic with advanced technology to treat complex injuries.
Last July, this space was certified for the treatment of children and adolescents with tumors of the central nervous system.
Thanks to recent infrastructure renovations, it now has 314 census beds and 253 non-census beds. Annually, it attends 80,000 emergency patients and performs 10,500 high-specialty surgeries, including cardiac interventions, kidney transplants and neonatal surgeries.
