DIF of Tecámac Promotes Preventive Actions Against Breast Cancer / @MejorTecamac >>>

#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- At the beginning of the activities for the “pink month” to raise awareness about the timely detection of breast cancer, Mayor Rocio Miguel Hernandez reported that the Municipal System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF) Tecamac, will conduct several workshops to promote the culture of prevention of this disease.

She emphasized that the municipal DIF offers accessible health services to the population, stressing that this disease is more frequent among women worldwide, with more than 1.7 million new cases diagnosed annually, which causes about 500 thousand deaths a year.

Since 2019, the municipality of Tecámac has strengthened its health infrastructure, with special emphasis on breast cancer prevention since, for two years, the DIF has had a mastograph that during the month of October will offer studies at a symbolic cost of 100 pesos, in order to facilitate access to early diagnosis for women.

Miguel Hernandez stressed that the wellbeing of women is key to family development, and called on women to prioritize their health, remembering that “if we are not well, we will not be able to move our families forward”.

In addition to the mastography service, DIF Tecámac will carry out various health days during the month of October, offering free pap smear tests, the placement of subdermal implants at no cost, among other preventive activities, bringing these services to the different communities of the municipality, to support especially those with low incomes or in vulnerable situations.

She stressed that these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to guarantee comprehensive and timely care for women, promoting the culture of prevention as a key tool in the fight against breast cancer.
