#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Constitutional President of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, led the start of preliminary works for the construction of the Mexico-Queretaro Train, which will have an estimated completion time of three years; it will depart from Buenavista, in Mexico City, towards San Juan del Rio, to reach the capital of Queretaro.
“Today we are here to announce the long-awaited Mexico-Queretaro Train, which will pass through San Juan del Rio. Who is going to build it? The ‘Felipe Ángeles’ Engineering Group, which belongs to the Ministry of National Defense, the military engineers have shown us that they are first class,” he said.
He informed that two months ago, with the authorization of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, this group began the planning work for this project, since it will be in charge of building it in collaboration with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), which will coordinate the project; the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) will be responsible for reviewing and mitigating the environmental impact. Meanwhile, the Government of Querétaro will help open the rights of way.
“When will it be ready? Well, we want the Mexico-Queretaro Train to be ready in three years. How are we going to do it? As of today, all the studies formally begin; they will be done between now and April, you will see engineers taking measurements, helicopters that will use a special technology called Lidar to make surveys and as of April construction will begin, it will leave Buenavista, go through San Juan del Río and arrive in Querétaro,” he said.
