Sectur continues to support families in Acapulco affected by Hurricane John / @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, instructed the cleaning brigades to continue their work in various areas of Acapulco affected by the passage of Hurricane John. The brigades are active in the neighborhoods, clearing roads, schools and homes.

The head of Sectur, Rodriguez Zamora, asked the delegation of public servants of the agency to strengthen the cleaning actions. She highlighted that in the Emiliano Zapata hill, heavy machinery is being used to clean a road.

Acapulco is characterized for being one of the most touristic areas in Mexico, that is why we are working for this beautiful port to recover from the devastation left by the hurricane in this tourist destination, assured Rodriguez Zamora.

Josefina Rodriguez emphasized that she maintains inter-institutional work with various federal agencies to achieve an integral attention, particularly in the sites affected by floods and mudslides.

With this coordinated work and the presence of more than a thousand public servants from the Federal Government, in four days of work, intervention has been achieved in more than twenty neighborhoods, such as Granjas del Márquez, Comunidad las Parotas, Los Libertadores, Parque Ecológico Viveristas, Colosio, Arroyo Seco, Coloso, Comunidad Playa Revolcadero, Emiliano Zapata, among others; and hundreds of homes have been attended.

Likewise, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, visited the port of Acapulco to follow up on the care tasks for the victims of Hurricane John; she was in the Alejo Peralta neighborhood. During the supervision meeting, she instructed the Ministry of Tourism to continue with the actions for the recovery of the beautiful port.
