Walk to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer in Tecámac / @MejorTecamac >>>

#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- As part of the “Pink Month” dedicated to breast cancer awareness, the Secretary of the Health Institute of the State of Mexico, Macarena Montoya Olvera and the Municipal President of Tecámac, Rocío Miguel Hernández, led the “State Walk for Breast Cancer Prevention”.

The event, which took place this Saturday morning at the Sierra Hermosa Ecological and Sports Park, aims to promote prevention and early detection of this disease.

Mayor Miguel Hernandez, mentioned that her administration is committed to implement public policies in health matters, which guarantee the welfare of citizens, such as breast cancer awareness.

“We are performing free mastographies in our medical units, with the objective of supporting our women and ensuring them quality care. We continue to work to ensure that no woman is left behind. We want strong, healthy and empowered women,” she said.

In her speech, Macarena Montoya Olvera, Director of the Health Institute of the State of Mexico, highlighted the value of joining efforts between municipalities, jurisdictions and the state government to promote a culture of cancer prevention, a disease that is the leading cause of death among women worldwide.

She thanked the collaboration of the health jurisdictions of Ecatepec, Texcoco, Nezahualcóyotl, Tlalnepantla, Atizapán de Zaragoza, Toluca, Zumpango, Valle de Bravo, among others, who participated in this walk.

The head of health in the state of Mexico highlighted the presence of Nancy Moreno Chavarría, a breast cancer survivor, who shared her testimony and urged women to have regular check-ups.

Within the framework of the walk, the “Jornada de Servicios” was held, where workshops were given, as well as dental talks, addiction prevention, mental health, somatometry, detection of diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and obesity.

In addition, rapid tests for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis C and the application of immunizations were performed, as well as external medical consultations and pharmacy services.
