#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Government of Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez held the first Public Hearing on the Mexico-Toluca Train “El Insurgente” Partial Urban Development Plan Project, which was attended by 300 people, including citizens, authorities and specialists, to express their ideas, opinions and proposals to improve the environment of this means of metropolitan transportation, in a polygon of more than 3,300 hectares.

In order to listen to the people of Mexico, the Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure (Sedui) organized this first hearing, with the support of the Government of San Mateo Atenco, one of the six municipalities through which the train crosses and which have joined the state proposal to make the Toluca Valley a model of urban growth with social sense.

Ida Mercedes Valenzuela Vázquez, Sedui’s Undersecretary of Urban Development, said that “El Insurgente” has changed the face of the Toluca Valley and seeks to improve connectivity and mobility to generate a positive impact on families in the region.

He added that the government of Mrs. Delfina Gómez Álvarez is working with everyone towards a common goal: to transform the metropolis of Mexico into more orderly, inclusive places where people can live better.

She said that this first hearing is an extremely enriching exercise of citizen dialogue because it is a key moment in the participatory construction of the metropolitan environment of the State of Mexico and in the consolidation of an inclusive urban development model, which takes into account the community in every decision.

Ana Muñiz Neyra, Municipal President of San Mateo Atenco, thanked the Governor for her confidence and emphasized that the partial plan will be a powerful tool to improve the quality of life of the people, because the Train multiplies the possibilities of employment and education, as well as more and better services.
