#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Constitutional President of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, headed the signing of the Universal Pension for People with Disabilities agreement in Progreso, Yucatán, together with the state governor, Joaquín Díaz Mena, and the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, so that Yucatecans with some kind of condition receive a pension, making a total of 23 entities adhered to this Welfare Program.

“We have not even completed a month of government and we are already signing that in Yucatan the Pension for People with Disabilities will be universal; if a child is born with a disability problem, until they become a senior citizen they will have their government support. Half of it is provided by the state government, our governor Joaquín Díaz Mena, and the other half by the federal government, so it is already a fact in Yucatán,” he assured during the event Pensión Mujeres Bienestar and the Universal Pension for Persons with Disabilities agreement.

He informed that with the arrival of the transformation to the Yucatan peninsula, the state project Renacimiento Maya will be consolidated, for which he announced the beginning of the studies for the improvement of the roads in the entire metropolitan area of Merida; He also highlighted projects such as the construction of 20 thousand homes, the signing of the agreement withIMSS-Bienestar -which includes the new Agustín O’Horán Hospital, which will be ready by mid-2025-, the consolidation of the Tren Maya as a freight train to boost the arrival of merchandise to the area, as well as its expansion towards Puerto Progreso, where, in addition, work will begin on the new deep-sea port in Puerto Progreso.

“We are finally going to make the deep-sea port of Puerto Progreso a reality, we will start this year; it will take three years of work, because the soil in this area is very hard and special machines are required to make it a deep-sea port, but we are going to start, it is a joint project between the state government and the Mexican government.
