SEP complies with President’s request for a return to classes in Guerrero / @SEP_mx >>>
#SEP.- The Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado Carrillo, said that after a month of work in which various federal and state government agencies participated, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s request for children, adolescents and young people in Guerrero to return to classes was fulfilled.
He informed that after the passage of Hurricane “John”, 97 percent of the schools in the state are already in on-site classes, 2 percent are online and in 16 campuses work continues to resume school activities.
During his speech at the presentation of the General Report on the Actions for Hurricane “John”, headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the Secretary of Public Education explained that after the damage caused by the phenomenon in several schools, the insurance they have was activated so that they are already working on the rehabilitation of 430 schools and the goal is to reach 569.
Mario Delgado Carrillo thanked the collaboration and support of the state government, the Ministry of Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN), the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), the Autonomous University of Guerrero (UAGro) and the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM), in addition to 400 SEP officials, who formed 55 brigades to support the clean-up of the affected schools.
In addition, the head of the SEP thanked mothers, fathers, teachers, principals and headmasters of the schools, who also joined in the rehabilitation of the schools so that they could return to school as soon as possible.
