With the presence of SPACE-X, everything is ready for CONACES 2024 Space Congress: AEM / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), informed that everything is ready for the “National Congress of Space Activities” (CONACES 2024), the most important space event in Mexico.

For the first time, Space-X will be present, through Kathryn Lueders, former NASA official, who directs the “Starbase”, an industrial and rocket launching complex of the leading company in space exploration, near Brownsville, Texas, U.S.A., on the border with Tamaulipas.

The meeting will be held in the city of Matamoros, with the presence of the first Mexican astronaut, Rodolfo Neri Vela; it will bring together the most important players in the sector, so the next November 7 and 8 will mark a milestone for Tamaulipas, which seeks to become the epicenter of space development in the country.

The AEM highlighted that the proximity of the place with the Space-X company, the presence of universities and first level research centers on both sides of the US-Mexico border, offers the ideal conditions to host CONACES.

The general coordinator of Human Capital Formation, Carlos Duarte Muñoz, explained that alliances will be established to strengthen the application of space science and technology to priority social tasks for the benefit of the country, especially those who need it most.

This celebration of space knowledge will be the first meeting point of the scientific, technological and industrial community, towards the strategic objective of consolidating the Mexican space program.
