#Celaya, #Gto.- The Municipal Government of Celaya and the Tecnológico Nacional de México in Roque commemorated the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, with the inauguration of the “Orange Day” and the 16 days of activism in search of safe spaces free of violence for the people of Celaya.

Representing the municipal president, Juan Miguel Ramírez, was councilwoman Ana Laura Benítez, president of the Gender Equality Commission of the City Council, who offered a message in which she reaffirmed the commitment of the municipal administration to respect human rights.

“Respect for human rights will be part of the actions of the public servants of this Administration 2024-2027. The alert for gender violence against women leads us to act through protocols of care for victims of violence and addiction, to conduct training on gender perspective, intersectionality and human rights approach, as well as to strengthen specialized police units, to support women in the creation of businesses for economic empowerment. I want to tell you that today both the Administration that I represent and I, unite with a message of zero tolerance for violent behavior towards women,” said Councilwoman Ana Laura.

She added that as councilwoman, her commitment is to generate affirmative actions to achieve violence-free and safe spaces for all women and girls in the municipality.

“The administration to which I belong we are very committed, we have as a priority the welfare of the people and guarantee access to all affirmative actions, to the rights and opportunities for us women, so that we are strengthened, so that we are empowered women and have economic autonomy,” she concluded.
