#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- The heart of the people of San Miguel de Allende made it possible to crown the Heritage City as the “Best Tourist Destination of the Year” in Mexico, within the “Angel of Tourism” awards.

Under the vision of Mayor Mauricio Trejo, San Miguel de Allende was positioned in these awards of the Mexican tourism sector for its culture, hospitality, beauty, but mainly for its inhabitants who are the spirit that has led this city to be recognized as the Ambassador of Guanajuato in Mexico and the world.

San Miguel came out ahead of national destinations such as Oaxaca and Merida, nominated in the “Best Tourist Destination of the Year” category.

“On behalf of the Mayor of San Miguel de Allende Mauricio Trejo, thank you very much to everyone, to the “Angel of Tourism” and above all to the service providers who make it possible. We look forward to seeing you in San Miguel de Allende,” said Tania Castillo de la Peña, head of Tourism and Economic Development.

The “Angel of Tourism” awards were born in 2013, consolidating itself as the tourism event with the greatest media impact in Mexico, which brings together industry leaders to choose with their votes the winners of 15 categories.

During the award ceremony, Tania Castillo highlighted to the personalities of the Evaluation Council that: “at the end of the day we are also a Cultural Heritage city, a clean city, that takes great care of all the details, the particularities, so I think that defines us”.
