IMSS and Concanaco-Servytur strengthen alliances to improve workers’ health and working conditions / @Tu_IMSS >>>

#IMSS.- The Secretary General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Jorge Gaviño Ambriz, attended an institutional meeting with the President of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco-Servytur), Octavio de la Torre de Stéffano, and other representatives of this important business organization, in order to discuss and coordinate joint strategies that strengthen collaboration between the institution and the business sector to improve the working and health conditions of workers in Mexico.

The meeting took place during the Presidents’ Plenary at the Confederation’s offices, which was attended by Secretary General Gaviño Ambriz on behalf of the IMSS Director General, Zoé Robledo, who highlighted the importance of the joint efforts between the employers’ sector and the Institute, such as the Safe and Healthy Workplace Environments (ELSSA) program, which with the support of the Concanaco-Servytur has achieved the adhesion of more than 12,948 companies to benefit 3,346,000 workers.

He recalled that on February 19, 2024, the renewal of the agreement between the IMSS and the Confederation was signed, with the aim of promoting a culture of prevention and care for workers, through the prevention of occupational illnesses and accidents, health promotion, physical exercise, dietary guidance and the timely detection of chronic degenerative diseases.

He emphasized that the IMSS has more than 500,000 workers nationwide, making it the largest employer in Mexico. The Institute has made significant investments in staff recruitment, prioritizing health care personnel, with a 23.4 percent increase in the number of doctors and a 10.3 percent increase in the number of nurses since 2018.
