De la Fuente calls for unity and dignity in the defense of Mexican nationals abroad / @SRE_mx >>>
#SRE.- In the defense of our fellow countrymen and women, regardless of their migratory status or where they are, we must be united to face the challenges ahead with great dignity, no matter how complex they may be, said Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente today, as he headed the Consultative Forum for the preparation of the National Development Plan (PND) 2025-2030 in Hermosillo, Sonora, on the instructions of the President of Mexico.
The official said that Mexican migrants are not and will not be alone and that the Mexican Government will do everything in its power to defend and enforce their rights, as well as to support them with legal assistance. Likewise, he specified that those Mexican nationals who decide to return or who are forced to return to the country will be welcomed with open arms, incorporated into the labor force and will be provided with social support. “This is their home and it will never cease to be so, never”.
He emphasized that our country has a consular network in the United States that will rise to the occasion to face the challenges that we are going to resolve with great dignity, based on our principles, convictions, solidarity and united as all Mexicans must be at this moment.
In his speech, he highlighted that these forums are a clear demonstration that it is not a matter of planning from the offices, since the Foreign Ministry has been present in several meetings with consuls and has talked with U.S. citizens and people interested in the common issues between both countries, which shows that there is an enormous interaction at all levels that is indestructible.
Before more than 150 plural leaders from different sectors, De la Fuente reiterated that unity is fundamental to send precise signals not only to the United States, but also to the whole world, and an example of this is the humanitarian aid contingent that, by instructions of the President of the country, supports the government of California to face the fires in that region.
