Martí Batres continues implementation of the “The Clinic is Ours” program in ISSSTE’s first level units / @martibatres @ISSSTE_mx >>>

#ISSSTE.- The Director General of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), Martí Batres Guadarrama, presented the guidelines of the “La Clínica es Nuestra” Program to representatives of the 565 first level clinics in the 32 states of the country, whose communities will receive resources to carry out improvement and equipment actions, highlighting that participation will be promoted and the social fabric will be strengthened.

“(…) And this will allow us to have an important experience in all the medical units, as I was saying, of physical improvement, but also of building the social and community fabric and the closeness of ISSSTE with its beneficiaries. (…) It is telling them: ‘the clinic is yours’. The program allows us a process of social and cultural appropriation, and if people participate, they fall in love with the works that are carried out,” said Martí Batres.

Together with the Secretary of Wellbeing, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, and the head of IMSS Bienestar, Alejandro Svarch Pérez, the director general explained that this initiative will be implemented with IMSS Bienestar resources and will provide positive results in each of the clinics, where, through an assembly, a Health and Wellbeing Committee (COSABI) will be formed, made up of a president, treasurer, technical secretary, citizen endorsement, members, social comptroller, health volunteers, and an authorized facilitator or Servant of the Nation.

“Each unit has different needs, we cannot standardize them; we may say: ‘we are going to put medical examination tables for all of them’, but in one place, a director or a director may say: ‘but here we do not lack examination tables, here we have other problems, the glass is broken, or we have other types of problems’ (…) All of them will have the support of the ‘La Clínica es Nuestra’ Program,” he said.

He pointed out that the dynamics of this program is based on social actions implemented in the administration of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and recalled that different clinics were intervened, so it will be continued in this new administrative stage, headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum, as part of the 25-point Plan for the Transformation of the ISSSTE.
