#SEP.- The general director of the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA), Armando Contreras Castillo, affirmed that the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will work to bring education to approximately 27.5 million Mexicans who are in a situation of educational backwardness in the country.
For this reason, and as part of the national strategy to eradicate illiteracy during this administration, the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), through INEA, signed a collaboration agreement with the government of the state of Nayarit to eradicate the educational backwardness of 38,128 inhabitants of Nayarit over the age of 15 who do not know how to read or write.
During the event “Proyecto Nayarit, Alfabetización para el Bienestar”, Contreras Castillo highlighted the importance of working together and pointed out that the objective with which INEA was born, 43 years ago, is that no Mexican should be left without education, for which reason, since its creation, around 29 million Mexicans have been attended.
He detailed that, currently, in the state of Nayarit 38,128 people do not know how to read or write; 81,061 have not finished elementary school and around 136,000 have not finished high school. For this reason, he called on the population in general to unite to ensure that 256,400 Nayaritans in educational backwardness can exercise their human right to education.
For his part, the state governor, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, reiterated his commitment to work hand in hand with the Mexican government to guarantee the well-being and educational development of the population.
