Certification of motorcyclists is not a tax collection measure: Daniel Sibaja @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- Two weeks after the beginning of the mandatory certification process for motorcyclists in the State of Mexico, 1,328 drivers have completed the process in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, informed the Secretary of Mobility, Daniel Sibaja González.

In this sense, he emphasized that the certification is not a tax collection measure, but aims to reduce road accidents of this type of drivers, since there are 14 incidents so far in 2025.

“Accidents are fatal, that is why we are doing this certification. I would like to make it clear that this is not a tax collection measure, it is an accessible price, it costs 467 pesos, the same as in Mexico City, it is what the norm established”, he said.

In an interview, he emphasized that with the certification they will be able to obtain a driver’s license and it will be endorsed by the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies (CONOCER) of the Ministry of Public Education.

“It is an issue in conjunction with the SEP and it is very important. Nothing that you pass the exam and if you don’t give me some money that doesn’t happen, because it is the federal authority who determines this and there are no acts of corruption,” he added.

For this purpose, he indicated that two modules will be set up, one will start operating on January 23rd and another one in the municipality of Nezahualcóyotl the following week.
