#SEP.- Radio Educación, an institution of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, presented En Ruta de Cambio, a journalistic and documentary podcast produced by journalist Alexia Cervantes, co-host of the morning edition of the Pulso news program, which, in the voice of the workers, explores the labor transformation in Mexico and takes a tour to the heart of the automotive factories.
The three-episode series presents stories that humanize the challenges and achievements of the workers of three emblematic companies (AUDI, Goodyear and Teklas) to hear their voices and learn about the struggles for their rights.
With a high quality production, the rigor of investigative journalism is combined with a dynamic and documentary narrative, as well as exclusive interviews with specialists and direct testimonies of the protagonists of these labor movements. The public is also invited to learn about the challenges faced by the people who are part of this key industry for the economy.
At a press conference to present En Ruta de Cambio, Alexa Cervantes expressed her gratitude to those who agreed to tell their stories: “Thanks to the workers, because without them, without their struggle, there would be nothing to tell. Perhaps it sounds complicated, but it is explained through these cases, which are success stories, they are real stories”.
He added that the podcast addresses how the T-MEC has a rapid response labor mechanism, through which the three countries resolve review requests that have to do with the denial of social rights, freedom of association and collective bargaining. “The goal is for more and more people to be aware of these tools and be able to assert their rights.”
