#BajaCalifornia.- Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda informed the media about the results obtained in the area of security, highlighting that the distribution of fentanyl has been significantly reduced, with an increase of up to 1,750 percent in the number of seizures.

At the conference, the governor introduced General Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, who as of February 1 will be the head of the state’s Secretariat of Citizen Security, an agency headed by General Leopoldo Tizoc Aguilar Durán.

“We have put a lot of effort into the security issue, with which we have obtained important results, and we have to continue working and always pay attention to the causes that generate criminal circumstances and conditions of inequality that provoke criminality,” he said.

In this sense, he highlighted that the state security forces have arrested more than eight thousand people linked to crimes, which represents an increase of 28 percent compared to past administrations.

He added that more than 1,600 firearms and more than 109,000 cartridges have been seized, representing a 279 percent increase over the previous state government, in addition to record seizures, such as more than 12 tons of methamphetamine and more than 1,400 kilos of cocaine.

On the other hand, he emphasized the consolidation of prevention strategies such as the Violeta System, which provided more than 15,000 services to women victims of violence during 2024, in addition to the “Eye on crime” program, which recovered 706 stolen vehicles and arrested more than 800 criminals in flagrante delicto.
