#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- In San Miguel de Allende, sports are part of the comprehensive strategy for social development formulated by municipal president Mauricio Trejo.

In the first weeks of this year, in San Miguel de Allende, the Municipal Sports Commission (Comude) continues to generate spaces for competition among sportsmen and high-performance athletes, by coordinating recreational and competitive activities; in addition to generating, rescuing and activating spaces suitable for sports practice.

The sports activities began in the field of athletics with the “Race of the Three Kings”, being the first competition of this 2025.

This race had more than 200 runners from San Miguel and abroad, including high performance competitors and occasional athletes. The Comude, in coordination with the Municipal Transit Department and Civil Protection, assisted the participants during the race, set up the starting and finishing arches, and provided medical services.

Continuing with the activity, the women’s finals were held at Benito Juárez Park, the epicenter of San Miguel de Allende basketball, where the Celtas team was crowned.

Likewise, San Miguel de Allende is a spearhead in sports training, achieving qualification to the National Games of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) 2025 in mountain biking with Carlos Luna as the San Miguel de Allende representative. Currently, San Miguel’s athletes have won national gold medals in skating, boxing and athletics respectively.
