#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, attended the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of General Rubén Ortiz Cano as Commander of the Texcaltitlán Special Command.
I attended the ceremony of General Rubén Ortiz Cano’s inauguration as Commander of the Texcaltitlán Special Command. From the Government of the State of Mexico we work in coordination to guarantee peace and security in our state,” the governor published on her social networks.
The new command is part of the coordinated actions between the Mexican and state governments and has the task of continuing with the security and peace actions in the southern area of the State of Mexico and working with neighboring states to protect the integrity of citizens.
The Texcaltitlán Special Command covers 29 municipalities, 16 in the State of Mexico, 10 in Guerrero and three in Michoacán.
Ortiz Cano is a brigadier general of the General Staff, born in Tlaxcala and has 35 years of uninterrupted service in the Army.
In his professional experience he has been deputy chief of staff in the military zones of Chiapas, Veracruz and Baja California; as well as commander of the 20th Infantry Battalion in Cuernavaca, Morelos.
Abroad, he was military and air attaché at the Mexican Embassy in France and has taken international military courses.
