Federal Government, Mexico City and Tlalpan mayor’s office reinforce operations against illegal logging / @Gabyosoriohdz @TlalpanAl >>>
#Tlalpan, #CDMX.- The Mayor’s Office of Tlalpan, in coordination with authorities from the Government of Mexico and Mexico City, carried out an inter-institutional operation that led to the seizure and closure of two clandestine sawmills in the La Puerta area, located in the communal property of the town of San Miguel Topilejo.
This joint effort responds to the ongoing commitment to protect conservation land, combat illegal logging and strengthen security in the district.
The operation included the participation of the Mexico City Environment Secretariat (Sedema), the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the Federal Attorney’s Office for Environmental Protection (Profepa), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the National Guard (GN) and operational personnel from the Tlalpan Mayor’s Office.
During the inspection of the Forestry Raw Material Storage and Transformation Centers, the seizure was achieved of:
347 30-centimeter boards of the pine genus.
49 pine poles of the same species
Specialized machinery, including two edgers, two planers, two saw benches and a three-phase motor.
