Inauguration of a mural created by young people at The Celaya Correctional Facility / @municipiocelaya >>>
#Celaya, #Gto.- With the aim of continuing to encourage young people to express themselves through art and skills development, the first mural was inaugurated inside the State Center for Prevention and Social Reinsertion (CePreReSo) in Celaya, which was created by young people who are inside the place.
The Urban Culture Unit, under the direction of Rosa María Romero, held a four-week workshop on muralism led by the urban artist “Fósil”, who gave them a lecture, theory and as a final project of these sessions they created a mural called “In your hands is freedom and peace”.
To inaugurate this mural were present some authorities such as the director of the State Center for Social Prevention of Celaya, Antonio Reynoso Ojeda; José Manuel Rentería Gualito, director of the Municipal Youth Institute of Celaya; Lucero Diaz, technical assistant director of CEPRESO; Michell Jaqueline Córdoba García, from the educational area; as well as Rosa María Romero, head of the Urban Culture area of IMJUV and Carlos Flores, head of the Integral Training Unit of IMJUV.
Within his message, the director of CePreReSe thanked the commitment of the young people who participated in this workshop and mural, in addition to thanking IMJUV, since the workshops are a means of personal expression where young people in general can express their ideas, which represents resilience.
“The fact that young people participate in these activities demonstrates their willingness to change, it is a reflection of growth and personal transformation,” he concluded.
The director of the Municipal Youth Institute, José Manuel Rentería Gualito, in his message thanked the opening of the space and said that this government aims to convey a message of hope.
He gave a special message to the young people who are fulfilling their debt to society.
