#EstadoDeMéxico.- With the aim of transforming the State of Mexico through urban development with a social sense and making the state a better place to live, Carlos Maza Lara, Head of the Secretariat of Urban Development and Infrastructure (Sedui), called on municipal authorities to approach the state government to update their Municipal Urban Development Plans (PMDU).

In the Congress of the State of Mexico, during the “Forum on Municipal Urban Development Plans, an instrument for territorial planning and fiscal strengthening”, Carlos Maza Lara informed that so far in the current state administration, nine PMDUs have been updated.

He indicated that Sedui prioritizes coordinated work and promotes territorial planning tools that guarantee better land use and a more efficient distribution of infrastructure and basic services, so that equitable, sustainable, orderly and harmonious communities can prosper.

The head of Sedui also stressed that the Government of the State of Mexico promotes new development models that prioritize the conservation of protected natural areas, integrated solid waste management, rational and efficient use of water, as well as multimodal mobility.

In this regard, he highlighted that this year, the government of Mrs. Delfina Gómez is working on the publication of the Partial Urban Development Plan for the Mexico-Toluca El Insurgente Train, in order to make this mobility project have a positive impact on the Metropolitan Zone of Toluca Valley.

In his turn, Deputy Héctor Karim Carvallo Delfín joined the state government’s call to the municipalities to update their Urban Development Plans, together with the current Mexican Legislature.
