Harmonization will allow the implementation of public policies in this area with a cross-cutting approach: Mariela Gutiérrez / @MarielaGtzEsc >>>
#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Metropolitan Areas and Mobility Commission, chaired by Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, approved the opinion to a minute to include the Secretariats of Security and Citizen Protection and Health in the integration of the National System of Mobility and Road Safety.
Mrs. Gutiérrez Escalante commented that the document, sent by the Chamber of Deputies, modifies Article 7 of the General Law of Mobility and Road Safety, thus addressing a legislative omission.

She explained that, although Article 74 of such law refers to these Secretariats as authorities in matters of mobility and road safety, it is necessary to carry out such harmonization.
The members of this committee, he emphasized, agree on the need to incorporate the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection into the system, in order to strengthen coordination among the different entities responsible for mobility and road safety. This will allow the implementation of public policies on the matter, with a transversal and comprehensive approach, as well as considering different perspectives, she added.
Senator Mariela Gutiérrez explained that the bill also amends Articles 73 and 74 to the effect of not specifically establishing that the participation of the Ministry of Health in the system will be through the Technical Secretariat of the National Council for the Prevention of Accidents.
