#SEP.- The Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado Carrillo, received from the Secretary General of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), Alfonso Cepeda Salas, the Pliego Nacional de Demandas 2025 (PND) to initiate work tables, analysis and budget negotiations between both parties.
In a meeting with the members of the National Executive Committee of the SNTE, in the historic headquarters of the SEP, Delgado Carrillo assured that he is working with the country’s teachers to, as indicated by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, guarantee the right to universal, inclusive, public, free and secular education.
The head of the SEP recognized the participation of teachers in the transformation of the country and pointed out that this commitment must be translated into public policies that improve their salary and benefit conditions, for which he commented that the demands expressed will be reviewed.
“You are the protagonists of the transformation we are living and this must be visible in the policies that the Government assumes with you”.
For his part, the secretary general of the SNTE, Alfonso Cepeda Salas, stressed that this is the first salary and labor negotiation of the union with “the humanist, democratic and popular government of our President of the Republic, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.”
“We are convinced that this will take place in a democratic scenario, in which dialogue, empathy, responsibility and, of course, the spirit of building agreements for the good of education, education workers and the people of Mexico will prevail,” he assured.
