#Tlalpan, #CDMX.- Mayor Gaby Osorio launched the Safe Mobility for Our Home strategy, a comprehensive plan that articulates actions for traffic, public transportation and recovery of pedestrian space in coordination with agencies of the Mexico City Government and authorities of the native peoples of the southern area of the district.
The program intervenes in areas with high road conflict such as the Mexico-Ajusco Corridor, the hospital area and the Picacho-Ajusco highway, through joint operations with the Undersecretary of Traffic Control and the active participation of neighbors and community representatives.
As part of this strategy, the mayor’s office added 83 community facilitators who support tasks such as traffic management, removal of obstacles, detection of abandoned cars and recovery of public space.
In coordination with the capital’s government, it is also planned to strengthen public transportation for the benefit of the mountain communities, since the frequency of the units and the demand for them is increasingly necessary.
The strategy is being developed together with the traditional authorities of Santo Tomás Ajusco, San Miguel Ajusco, Magdalena Petlacalco and San Miguel Xicalco, who participated in the official announcement and acknowledged the joint work with the Mayor’s Office.
Mayor Gaby Osorio emphasized that the right to mobility is one of the four priorities of her government, along with security, access to water and attention to violence against women. She recalled that, for the governments of the Fourth Transformation, guaranteeing this right is a priority, and highlighted the permanent coordination with the Chief of Government, Clara Brugada, for the benefit of the communities of Tlalpan.
