#CuautitlánIzcalli, #Edoméx.- In response to one of the most urgent needs of the citizens of Cuautitlán Izcalli, the first phase of the Municipal Government’s repaving program this year began. Work began in La Quebrada. Mayor Daniel Serrano supervised the start of resurfacing work along a kilometer of La Quebrada Avenue in the aforementioned neighborhood, which also includes resurfacing Playa Abierta and Playa Escondida streets.

At the start of the work, with the help of a milling machine, the damaged pavement, approximately 17 centimeters high, was removed to prepare the ground and perform a complete resurfacing, re-leveling curbs, valve boxes, storm drains, and pavement markings. This work will be carried out with the city’s own resources, and it is estimated that approximately 1,150 tons of asphalt will be applied by the Cuautitlán Izcalli Road Maintenance (MAVICI) to the three roads being repaired.

During the tour, the mayor listened to the concerns of several local residents, who requested his intervention in the resurfacing of Playa Abierta Street, a street that, despite being heavily traveled, has been abandoned, destroyed, and neglected, as has Playa Escondida Street.

«For years, we have only repeatedly filled in potholes until they reached almost the level of the sidewalk, but the street can’t take any more potholes, so we will be resurfacing it completely,» stated the mayor, who was accompanied by Verónica Italia Montero, Director of Urban Development and Infrastructure.
