#EstadoDeMéxico.- To create new educational opportunities for children and youth in the State of Mexico, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez invested more than 67 million pesos in the rehabilitation and modernization of three sports facilities: the «Tratados de Teoloyucan» Sports Unit and Sports School, the «Jaramillo» Park in Tepotzotlán, and the «Infonavit» Municipal Sports Center in Lerma.
«163,267 residents were also benefited, and 3,400 jobs were created. These figures show us that work is truly being done, not only in material terms, but also in job creation, and the economy is being reactivated,» said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
The state governor emphasized that these projects are part of the Public Works Program, which seeks to give a new face to the urban environment and provide social justice to the 125 municipalities.
In the renovation of the «Infonavit» Municipal Sports Center in Lerma, 16 million 327 thousand pesos were invested in improvements such as the construction of a skating rink and a dog park, as well as the extension of the jogging track. The soccer, handball, and basketball courts, as well as the children’s play areas, were also renovated.
«This space is truly very good for all of you, especially because I know that this municipality stands out for many activities where you have been able to work with children. It’s not just soccer, for example. You tell me that you also practice martial arts, athletics, boxing, and cycling, and you truly experience actions such as respect, discipline, and teamwork,» said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
This event was attended by Horacio Duarte Olivares, Secretary General of Government; Miguel Ángel Hernández Espejel, Secretary of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation; Carlos Jesús Maza Lara, Secretary of Urban Development and Infrastructure; Mario Ariel Juárez Rodríguez, General Director of the Highway Board, and Adrián Hernández Romero, General Coordinator of Civil Protection.
