#CuautitlánIzcalli, #Edoméx.- Mayor Daniel Serrano toured the area to oversee the start of the rehabilitation work on Primero de Mayo Avenue, a 6,460-meter-long project that connects the southern and northern areas of the municipality. The work will be carried out over the next three weeks, and the mayor asked for «the public’s patience and understanding for the inconvenience caused.»
Accompanied by Verónica Italia Montero, Director of Urban Development and Infrastructure, and the first representative, María del Carmen Barbosa Flores, the mayor toured section 5 (of the 6 sections included in the project), which runs from Avenida Morelos to Avenida Constitución, a 1,380-meter section, to review the details of the work and locate speed bumps where needed to improve vehicle traffic flow.
This «will be done in consultation with the residents.» The resurfacing work on Primero de Mayo Avenue begins at Miguel Hidalgo Street in Santiago Tepalcapa, in the southern zone, and extends to Avenida Río Cuautitlán in Infonavit Norte. The project has a total length of 6,460 meters. A 5 cm thick asphalt concrete base will be applied, «given that this roadway can no longer handle any more potholes.»
Segment I of the project consists of the construction of a new section of the roadway, spanning 1,520 meters, with a 17-meter section, a 450-meter length, and an 11-meter rolling surface with four traffic lanes, sidewalks, and a 2-meter median strip. Complete lighting fixtures and 10 lighting arms will be installed in the section between Jalisco and Adolfo López Mateos Streets.
