#CuautitlánIzcalli, #Edoméx.- On Thursday morning, April 24, the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli hosted the Third Inter-institutional Working Table for the rescue of the Guadalupe Dam. hosted the Third Inter-Institutional Working Group for the rescue of the Guadalupe Dam, in which the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the National Water Commission (CONAGUA), the Federal Attorney’s Office for
Protection of the Environment (PROFEPA) as well as the Water Secretariat of the Government of the State of Mexico, among other agencies.
During the session, led by the director of Sustainability and Environment of the Municipal Government of Cuautitlán Izcalli, Lily Chávez Campuzano, the representatives of the various agencies presented their progress in the project to clean up the Guadalupe Dam, whose rescue is part of the 17 priority projects of President Claudia Sheinbaum.

The issue of the artificial dams, placed by a private individual in the southern part of the reservoir, which were closed by #PROFEPA in a proceeding earlier this month, was discussed. The deliberation revolved around the high amount of material dumped on the site, which caused the formation of micro-lakes that have accumulated a significant volume of wastewater.
The Third Inter-institutional Working Table was also attended by representatives of the General Secretariat of the Government of the State of Mexico, the State Commission for Natural Parks and Fauna (#CEPANAF), the State of Mexico Environmental Protection Agency (#PROPAEM) and the Municipal Government of Cuautitlán Izcalli, through the Operagua agency and the Civil Protection and Fire Department.
