Modernization of the Jojutla Bridge will improve the lives of 22,000 Morelos residents: SICT / @SICT_mx >>>
#SICT.- The Jojutla Bridge, located on the Jojutla-Valle de Vázquez-Chinameca highway in the state of Morelos, whose modernization work is being carried out by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), will benefit 21,897 residents of the region.
This infrastructure project, part of the «Tierra y Libertad Circuit» announced by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, is a road used by cargo trucks and connects to the Siglo XXI Highway. The objective is to expand the bridge to two vehicle lanes.
The Ministry’s work, led by Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, consists of demolishing the current platform to build a new 40-meter single-span bridge without intermediate supports to avoid any obstruction of the Yautepec River.
With an investment of 30 million pesos, work is being carried out at km 1+600 of the Jojutla-Valle de Vázquez-Chinameca highway for the construction of the 0.280 km bridge (0.04 km of structure and 0.240 km of access roads), as well as for operating and supervision costs.
The work will generate 285 jobs and will be completed this year.
According to the work plan, after the river is channeled, the existing bridge will be demolished, work will be undertaken on the retaining walls and screens, as well as preliminary work on the substructure, superstructure, access roads, signage, metal fencing, and complementary works.
This connectivity project seeks to protect the community from climatic events such as rainfall. To this end, the new structure will be elevated approximately three meters above the current level to prevent flooding.
