Benito Juárez Mayor’s Office achieves 97.51 points in Transparency Verification, consolidating its commitment to accountability / @BJAlcaldia >>>
#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- The Benito Juárez mayor’s office obtained a score of 97.51 points in the Transparency Obligations Evaluation conducted by the Mexico City Institute for Transparency, Access to Public Information, Personal Data Protection, and Accountability (InfoCDMX). This result represents significant progress compared to the 63.08 points obtained in December 2024.
This achievement reflects the commitment of the new administration led by Mayor Luis Mendoza, who took office in October 2024. Since the beginning of his administration, the mayor has pledged to make Benito Juárez the most transparent mayor’s office for the benefit of the residents of the district, promoting proactive transparency and ensuring that public information is accessible to all.
A clear example is the launch of a microsite on the mayor’s office website, where construction progress is disseminated in real time through an interactive map with geolocation, photographs, and detailed information about the works. In this way, residents can know who is building, why, and what is being constructed. This initiative responds to one of the most frequent neighborhood demands in the district.
Likewise, Mayor Luis Mendoza presented an initiative to the Mexico City Congress to redefine the powers of municipal governments regarding real estate development, with the aim of preventing healthy neighborhood coexistence from being undermined by private interests. This proposal reaffirms his commitment to transparency, legality, and accountability as guiding principles of his administration.
The Global Index of Compliance with Transparency Obligations (IGOT), whose scale ranges from 0 to 100 points, is a tool that ensures that the websites of obligated entities, such as municipal governments, publish public information based on criteria of truthfulness, reliability, timeliness, accessibility, and understandability, among others.
