#Tlalnepantla, #Edoméx.- Since six years ago, with the official launch of the «Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro» programme by former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador here in Tlalnepantla de Baz, successful results have been achieved; many generations of young people have been rescued from dropping out of school, assured Municipal President Raciel Pérez Cruz.
At the presentation of cards to beneficiaries of the Mexican government’s welfare programmes, he said that it has been proven with figures that «Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro» has almost definitively reduced school dropout rates, guaranteeing the right to study and work to this sector of the population that was discriminated against during the neoliberal period.
He indicated that today, the government of the President of Mexico, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has preserved this programme as one of the main and strategic programmes so that young people do not give up, «so that no one is left behind or ends up being ‘cannon fodder’ for criminal groups; so that no young person is tempted to leave through the wrong door, which means drug use».
In the Gustavo Baz square of this municipality, the Mayor expressed that «We celebrate six years of this programme that has undoubtedly represented an advance in justice and attention to the youth of our country, because there were decades of indifference, indolence, abandonment and injustice towards the youth of our country».

Pérez Cruz acknowledged the work of President Claudia Sheinbaum for her daily efforts to move the country forward, while adding that the social welfare policy and programmes have already borne fruit, proof of which is that in the last six years, 9 million Mexicans have left the poverty line.
In his speech, Víctor Daniel Villavicencio Cuevas, Regional Director Centre 1 of the General Directorate of Territorial Operation of the «Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro» Unit, pointed out that this programme not only represents an opportunity for professional development, but also a door to personal growth and a fairer and more equitable construction.
In turn, Ivette Yadira Campos Padilla, Deputy Director of Welfare of the Government of Tlalnepantla, mentioned that this programme is much more than a simple scholarship; it is an open door towards growth, preparation and the possibility of building a better present and future.
