#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The municipal government of Atizapán de Zaragoza, led by Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, has launched a significant initiative to promote the health of families and students in the municipality.
In the first phase, water purification machines will be installed in 20 schools, with the goal of gradually reaching almost 100% coverage. The main objective is to provide safe drinking water and promote the habit of drinking water among children and young people, thus contributing to the fight against childhood obesity.
Pedro Rodríguez Villegas emphasized the importance of this initiative for the future of Atizapán residents. «Bringing these machines to our schools is a priority. We want to instill healthy habits from an early age, providing them with easy and affordable access to quality water,» said the mayor. «With just one peso, our students will be able to obtain a liter of purified water, which represents a great benefit to their health and the family economy.»
This ambitious project is possible thanks to the collaboration between the Chinese Aquarelief Business Group and the Municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza. This strategic alliance underscores both parties’ commitment to community health.
Yujia Xu, Director of the Aquarelief Business Group, expressed her satisfaction at participating in this significant partnership. «My motivation during these six years of traveling throughout Mexico has been the need to bring drinking water to people at an affordable cost. This vending machine system is the result of that dream, offering quality water at a very low price, meeting and exceeding COFEPRIS standards,» stated the director.
It is important to mention that, simultaneously, the hydration program has begun its first phase with the installation of water purification machines in municipal government buildings, such as the Municipal Palace, the SAPASA offices, and the Central DIF (National Institute of Food and Drug Administration). This measure also seeks to guarantee access to purified water for employees and visitors of these facilities.
