#Naucalpan, #Edoméx.- “Today I want to tell you clearly, your work is essential and must be recognized. It’s time for us as a society to value it and put it at the center of public policies,” said Mayor Isaac Montoya Márquez, before hundreds of Naucalpan mothers who attended the Celebrating Mom event, organized by the Naucalpan Municipal DIF System.

He reiterated that Naucalpan mothers deserve more than a symbolic thank you once a year. They deserve public policies, they deserve the allocation of resources, and they deserve time of their own to dedicate to their own goals. They deserve a municipality and a city that supports them, listens to them, and supports their decisions.

The mayor pledged to the mothers to continue working to build the city we long for, where caregiving is not a solitary burden, but a shared responsibility. A Naucalpan where being a mother doesn’t imply selfless sacrifice from anonymity, but also growth, dreams, and decisions with the support of a government that lives up to their demands.

Montoya Márquez recognized the work mothers from various communities in the area do with their children, as well as those who care for older adults, family members with disabilities, or those with health conditions that require constant support.

«In Naucalpan, we know that there is no possible future without justice, without historic justice for women,» Montoya Márquez emphasized, amid applause from the mothers who attended her celebration.
