#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- Regarding the concert titled JUNTOS, which has been announced for May 24th of this year at Plaza de Toros La México, located in the Ciudad de los Deportes neighborhood of the Benito Juárez borough, we inform you of the following:
In the Benito Juárez borough government, our only motivation and commitment is to our neighbors and to ensure that all activities within the borough are carried out in an orderly and safe manner.
It is therefore the fundamental responsibility of the borough’s public servants to ensure that producers, promoters, and organizers of mass events adhere to the highest standards of safety, legal soundness, and, above all, take into account regulations regarding Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, Commercial Establishments, Public Entertainment, and Citizen Security, among many other applicable regulations.
First: We received Civil Protection documents yesterday, May 12th, for the aforementioned concert, without the proper legal formality, as the petition was not signed by the holder or legal representative of the bullring’s Operating License.
Second: The Public Performances notice was not submitted in a timely manner, which creates uncertainty about which Operating License rights the individuals will exercise and correlates with the submission of Civil Protection documents.
Third: The mayor’s office has three business days to issue the corresponding notification, which, among other things, will request the complete content of the Internal Civil Protection Program for the La México Bullring and its registration with the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, as well as documents certifying compliance with the complementary regulations they have issued, among other documents missing from the initial review.
For the above reasons, and until the prevention measures are resolved and the operating license holder or legal representative satisfactorily addresses them, and full compliance is physically verified at the venue, this authority considers that conditions do not currently exist for the event to take place.
The Benito Juárez Mayor’s Office, being the competent authority, and this being a matter of public interest due to the number of people who intend to attend the event and their safety, issues this statement.
