#GobiernoDelEstadoDeMéxico.– TOLUCA, State of Mexico. – The State of Mexico registered a historic decrease in intentional homicides in the first half of 2025, dropping from third to fifth place in one year, representing a decrease of 28.3%, informed Marcela Figueroa, head of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) on La Mañanera del Pueblo.
For the first time since records have been kept, the State of Mexico, the most populated in the country, came out of the top 3 entities with the highest number of intentional homicides at the national level.
“At the Mesa de Coordinación para la Construcción de la Paz we followed up on President @Claudiashein’s #MañaneraDelPueblo, in which the report on crime incidence up to June was presented and where #EdoMéx, for the first time, is out of the top 3 in intentional homicide,” said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez on social networks.
When Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez took office as Governor of the State of Mexico, she received the entity as the first place in intentional homicides (2023). At the end of her first year in office (2024), it dropped to third place, and in 2025 it dropped to fifth, showing a sustained downward trend.
