#Celaya, #Gto.- In a collaborative effort between the Municipal Government and the Chispitas de Felicidad association, the first breast prostheses and cancer wigs were delivered this Tuesday. These wigs were made through the «Taller del Corazón» program, promoted by the Municipal Youth Institute.
Mayor Juan Miguel Ramírez led the event, which included the first delivery of wigs and prostheses to women facing the battle against cancer, to whom he conveyed a message of encouragement and hope.
«Today we deliver these cancer wigs with solidarity, because we know that beyond appearances, what truly matters is the strength, courage, and hope that each of you carries in your heart. Hair loss can be an emotional challenge, but it is also a way to fight cancer, and that is why we are convinced that if you continue with this courage, you will have positive results and face life in better conditions,» said Mayor Juan Miguel Ramírez in his message.
The director of the Municipal Youth Institute, José Manuel Rentería Gualito, explained that the «Heart Workshop» was created with the dual purpose of reducing the waiting time for women who need a wig or breast prosthesis, who sometimes have to wait weeks or months to receive support, and, on the other hand, promoting voluntary social service among young people.
“Young people are not only the future of our society, they are the present, and we must give our full attention to the present. Young people have the energy, creativity, and passion to generate significant change. However, they are often drawn down dark paths due to a lack of opportunities, hopelessness, and in their search for belonging, it is crucial that we provide alternatives that not only keep them away from crime, but also allow them to grow and develop as responsible and committed individuals.
Participation in altruistic activities like this, such as volunteering, community work, or social projects, not only gives them a purpose but also teaches them fundamental values such as empathy, solidarity, and teamwork,” said the director of the IMJUV.
The president of the Chispitas de Felicidad association, Dr. Leticia González, offered a brief overview of the 10 years they have been carrying out humanitarian actions, specifically the “United Against Cancer” program, which promotes care for women facing this disease.
