#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- The Tecámac government initiated property recovery actions during the previous administration, and now, during this period, the Specialized Program for the Prevention and Protection of Real Estate Property (PEPPPI) has been created to continue addressing the problem.
The Tecámac Civil Guard has recovered 51 properties—21 last year and 30 this year—and others that are in litigation, which had been stolen from their owners. It has also captured 70 alleged perpetrators of home invasions, 17 of them in the last four months.
Municipal President Rosi Wong Romero is continuing the recovery program that has been in place since the previous administration and has now named it PEPPPI, along with an action protocol, to support the state government’s efforts to address and reduce the problem.
Corporation reports establish that from 2023 to the present, the Command Center has received 414 calls for home invasions, 70 of these from January to the first week of May.
The locations where the Command Center receives the most calls for assistance are primarily residential units and subdivisions.
The protocol establishes the procedure to follow or the actions to be observed upon requesting support to address a complaint, petition, and/or request for assistance, in the event of the probable commission of crimes related to the property or possession of which the person has been deprived, with or without violence.
It also intervenes in cases where homes are allegedly invaded, abandoned, or if the owner is identifiable and traceable within municipal territory, protecting the physical integrity of individuals and ensuring the legal and legitimate protection of their property, among other aspects.
Various municipal government departments participate in this program, such as the Civil Protection Coordination, ODAPAS, Treasury, Cadastre, and Urban Development and Housing, which also promote a culture of reporting to the corresponding authority.
It is important to mention that the members of the special program will be providing preventive assistance to the State Attorney General’s Office without hindering its powers.
