As part of the «Bicentennial Steps» program, Mayor Rosi Wong Romero fulfilled her campaign promise, making Tecámac the first municipality in the State of Mexico to offer free school sneakers for the past five years, and, starting this year, sneakers.
The program is aimed at preschool, elementary, and secondary school students, to support the economy of Tecámac
ouseholds at the start of the school year. In the case of the sneakers, the program represents a benefit equivalent to 800 pesos for parents.
With this shoe benefit, which began during the administration of current Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante as mayor, and now with the distribution of sneakers, Tecámac becomes the first and only municipality in the State of Mexico with this type of support.
«Bicentennial Steps» is part of the various activities to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the municipality’s establishment.
