#Naucalpan, #Edoméx.- Just days after the opening of Rosario Castellanos University in Naucalpan was announced, an initial registration of more than a thousand young applicants has been achieved, exceeding expectations for the first generation. Mayor Isaac Montoya Márquez announced the total of 1,176 registrations so far, highlighting the enthusiasm of Naucalpan’s youth for accessing quality higher education and the anticipated success of this major project.

This new educational institution, which will offer morning and afternoon classes, will offer 10 majors, and will be located in the building known as Rancho Los Tres García, whose decommissioning was recently approved at a City Council meeting. It represents an alternative for the advancement of Naucalpan’s youth, said the Mayor.

During the Nineteenth Ordinary Session of the City Council, Resolution Twenty-Fourth, the disincorporation of the property known as «Rancho Los Tres García» from the municipal property was approved. It will be donated to the Rosario Castellanos National University to house the university’s campus in Naucalpan.

«Education is about providing alternatives for youth who for decades were excluded, living in adverse conditions of marginalization, which became conducive to criminal groups that forcibly or voluntarily recruited young people without expectations or hope, and whom the regime once turned its back on,» the Mayor noted.

Montoya Márquez recalled that, as a local representative, he expressed his disagreement with the previous administration’s attempt to shut down this educational project despite the many benefits it offers. He justified it by arguing that it was financially unviable, that it was «far away,» and that the previous government never proposed an alternative solution. Although part of building peace comes from addressing the causes that generate violence, in this case, education is a tool to achieve it.

He emphasized the transformative vision of the Municipal Government and, of course, the Government of the State of Mexico, led by teacher Delfina Gómez Álvarez, who, from the beginning, also showed interest in this educational project. He also recognized the work and interest of President Claudia Sheinbaum as part of a commitment that proposed the creation of this University, and today it is a shared achievement.

He also emphasized that the Rosario Castellanos National University is «a public university that adapts to the social reality, to the reality of the dynamics of the area where it is located.» In this case, there is a determining regional reality; there is an analysis that defines the 10 programs that will ultimately be offered to young people in Naucalpan and other municipalities.
