#CuautitlánIzcalli, #Edoméx.- Since the early hours of Tuesday, June 3, residents of the San Isidro Ejidal community were assisted by municipal authorities after experiencing damage caused by the rains of Monday, June 2, which caused the water levels of the El Ángulo dam in this community to rise. Like other municipalities and boroughs in the Valley of Mexico, Cuautitlán Izcalli recorded rainfall between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2, a situation that activated monitoring and response protocols that night. Operagua personnel responded to localized flooding in the Francisco Villa neighborhood and the underpass of the Mexico-Querétaro Highway near Perinorte, in support of an emergency response unit.

In a coordinated effort, Operagua and the State of Mexico Water Commission (CAEM) began the controlled release of the El Ángulo dam, which reached a level of 4.70 meters. This work was carried out during the early hours of Tuesday morning, lowering the accumulated level by almost two meters.

Public Services and Operagua personnel carried out cleaning work at this reservoir during the morning, removing 40 cubic meters of trash, mostly from the municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza. Civil Protection and Firefighters, as well as members of the Mexican Army, arrived on site to provide assistance to the affected population. A collapsed outlet pipe from the dam was addressed, with stones that could obstruct it removed and sacks placed in place to prevent hazards. Likewise, homes prone to flooding were protected with sacks at their entrances to protect residents.

Finally, Operagua personnel responded to reports of homes affected by floodwater ingress. Using hydrosuction equipment, they cleaned septic tanks, cisterns, and the interior of some homes. The above is true for Jade, Galeana, and Topacio streets in this community.

The Municipal Government of Cuautitlán Izcalli reiterates its commitment to addressing the needs of its citizens, especially during weather events. Furthermore, it is strengthening its response capacity to emergencies daily, prioritizing the protection of the population and their assets at all times.
