#EstadoDeMéxico.- As part of its commitment to the well-being of families in the State of Mexico, the government of Professor Delfina Gómez Álvarez signed a collaboration agreement with the Ecatepec City Council to strengthen the pumping system in the area of influence of the State of Mexico’s Outer Ring Road, which will help reduce flood risks in 154 neighborhoods in the Fifth Zone.
The agreement establishes institutional coordination mechanisms for the acquisition and installation of new hydraulic pumping equipment through the State of Mexico’s Highway, Airport, Related, and Auxiliary Services System (SAASCAEM). This will allow for the timely removal of rainwater and wastewater that accumulates during the rainy season, especially in critical areas near this important communication route.
During the event, Daniel Sibaja González, Secretary of Mobility, emphasized that SAASCAEM’s responsibilities include designing, constructing, and maintaining toll road infrastructure, as well as implementing actions that improve the quality of life for the residents of the State of Mexico.
He added that the agency will work with the concessionaire CONMEX, operator of the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense (Mexiquense Outer Circuit), to coordinate the necessary processes to complete this hydraulic project.
Accompanied by Azucena Cisneros Coss, Mayor of Ecatepec, and Roberto Carlos Álvarez Juárez, General Director of SAASCAEM, Sibaja González emphasized that the city council will provide the technical, logistical, and administrative support to ensure the proper installation and commissioning of the equipment, as well as its integration into the municipal drainage system.
Finally, it was reported that CONMEX must establish a trust, which will be administered by a Technical Committee appointed by the Government of the State of Mexico, responsible for evaluating, defining, and supervising the technical specifications of the equipment to be installed.
