#BajaCalifornia, #México.- With the commitment to expand access and permanence in school in Baja California, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda led the first scholarship delivery for students with good educational achievement at the high school level, benefiting on this occasion 347 students from public high schools in Mexicali.
In her message, the governor said that the state administration continues to invest in education by promoting tools to empower the talent of young people so they can build the path to achieve their goals.
«Education is the best tool against crime and addictions. You are very talented young people, let no one cut off your dreams and in my government we are going to work very hard so that you continue studying. Today we are building the Rosario Castellanos University in Tijuana and expanding the university offerings so that when they finish high school they will find open doors,» he said.
This was the first scholarship delivery of the 1,500 scholarships that will reach all the municipalities of the state during 2025, where the government of Marina del Pilar provides the amount of 1,500 pesos per semester to each student, representing an investment of 2 million 250 thousand pesos.
These scholarships are in addition to the support promoted by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, such as the Rita Cetina, Benito Juárez, Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro scholarships, in addition to the JOBEC program of the State Education Secretariat, which have increased school retention from 50 out of every 100 to 72 out of every 100 students in the country, inhibiting school dropouts.
Aurora Gissel Zazueta Felix, who is a student of Conalep Mexicali campus II, recalled that before the expenses in her education meant a complicated economic burden for her family, so by receiving this scholarship she was able to cover the necessary supplies to continue studying.
“Thank you for believing in us students and in our potential, I am sure that we are all committed to make the best use of this opportunity and demonstrate that the investment in education is worth it,” she said.
